Over several days in January 2020, Director of Photographer Philip Kral, along with Producer Peter Bush, recorded the life recollections of Peter's father, Harrison O. Bush, Jr., at his lifelong Sloatsburg homestead. At the time of filming, Harrison was 94.
In 2004, Harrison and his son Peter helped found the nonprofit Friends of Harmony Hall-Jacob Sloat House (FOHH) to preserve and restore the property. This 1848 homestead of Harrison’s great-great-grandfather Jacob Sloat was in imminent danger of being torn down, as so many historic houses have been in Rockland County. Harrison was the first President of the FOHH. He continued his impactful and dedicated service to the board in 2025. He helped produce many successful lectures and programs at the site and provided ongoing historical narrative and information not only for the board but also for out-of-area residents seeking information on their family genealogy.
Join the Friends on Saturday, September 19, 2026, 2 p.m. at Harmony Hall-Jacob Sloat House, for a rough-cut screening of "Reflections on WWII": The wartime life of Harrison O. Bush, Jr. Harrison served in the 330th Infantry, 83rd Thunderbolt Division.
Q&A and reception follow the 45-minute screening.
