Preservation perseverance by The Friends of Harmony Hall-Jacob Sloat House has resulted in three major and transformative restoration projects in the last three years.
2023 — The dramatic restoration of the 1848 Grand Staircase, archway, window, and plaster walls. Hudson View Construction reinstated the original stair spindles, newel post, and handrail, restoring the staircase's historic character and craftsmanship.

2024 — Three original south parlor windows, suffering from advanced deterioration, were meticulously restored by master window restorer Kurt Riegel. Every component of the 1848 windows was addressed, including the mullions, surviving historic glass, and operating mechanisms. The stunning floor-to-ceiling windows now embody exceptional craftsmanship, historic authenticity, improved functionality, and greater energy efficiency.
2025 — The most impressive and significant exterior restoration to date: the front veranda. Twenty years of fundraising by the Friends of Harmony Hall made possible the restoration of this defining architectural feature of the house. The veranda project was honored with the Rockland County Executive's 2026 Historic Preservation Merit Award presented by The Historical Society of Rockland.
