On May 3, 2025 – Kentucky Derby Saturday, The Friends of Harmony Hall hosted another unforgettable afternoon of elegance and tradition with their annual Victorian Tea. Guests were welcomed in the mansion’s historic double parlor by vintage place settings, napkin roses, and tables adorned with lace, fine China, silver, and tiered trays, creating a scene right out of the 19th century.
This cherished ritual, originating in Victorian England, has long symbolized culture, class, and etiquette. While the customs of the era —including upright posture and soft conversation—were gently honored, Harmony Hall added its signature warmth and hospitality, encouraging guests to relax and enjoy the experience without formality.
The delightful menu featured fresh scones and muffins with clotted cream and lemon curd, traditional tea sandwiches, and an assortment of elegant desserts, all accompanied by fine tea. The Board of Trustees graciously provided the food and service, ensuring every guest felt pampered.
With many first-time attendees and familiar faces alike, the event was a resounding success. Most importantly, all proceeds will support the restoration of the mansion’s front porch, helping preserve the historic beauty of Harmony Hall for generations to come.
