Recap of our 2025 Highlands Bluegrass Festival!

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the Great Lawn at Harmony Hall – Jacob Sloat House was once again filled with music, laughter, and the unmistakable spirit of community as the 15th Annual Highlands Bluegrass Festival took center stage in Sloatsburg, NY. Under blue skies and surrounded by the beauty of the Ramapo River Valley, families, music lovers, and craft enthusiasts gathered to celebrate a local tradition that seems to get better every year.

The music? Absolutely phenomenal. The festival welcomed three incredibly talented bands to the stage, each bringing something unique. The G Rockwell Trio made a memorable festival debut with tight harmonies and impressive instrumentation that had the crowd swaying from the very first song. The Eugene Tyler Band, now a festival staple, delivered a raw, rootsy set that reminded everyone why they keep getting invited back. And of course, Cole Quest and The City Pickers never disappoint, blending traditional bluegrass with just the right amount of NYC edge.

But the festival was more than just music. The craft vendors on the lawn were a treasure trove of handmade art, jewelry, and local goods — perfect for early holiday shopping or picking up a unique souvenir. Kids were entertained with creative activities, and adults enjoyed the beer, wine, and hard cider garden while soaking in the sounds. Guests witnessed their donations at work as the front porch restoration is in full swing. Thanks to the generous support from our donors and fundraising events, the front porch will be rehabilitated to its original 1848 charm later this fall.

Whether you were dancing barefoot in the grass or relaxing under the shade of a tree, there was a feeling of joy and connection in the air. Everyone enjoyed the day. The FOHH Board of Trustees wants to thank our sponsors, Valley Rock Inn, Core Building Material, The Town of Ramapo, Rockland County Tourism, and all the volunteers for making our Great Lawn festivals possible.
