There were signs of spring as flowers “bloomed” on Thursday, March 20th when Damarie O'Toole from Areito Bakery hosted a cookie decorating class at Harmony Hall. Participants learned to flood and pipe, and the differences among 10, 15, 20, and 30-second royal icings. Damarie supplied flower cookies and prepared icings along with model cookies to copy. Guests were also provided recipes to ensure future success. Damarie’s professional cake decorating experience along with friendly explicit instruction and patience created an atmosphere for a very successful event. Everyone left with two bouquets of beautiful and delicious cookies as well as a newly acquired skill. Most importantly, they had a wonderful time, enjoyed the class, and expressed an interest in Harmony Hall for future events.
