Join us on Saturday, December 19th - 2:00pm
Once again, FOHH and the Town of Ramapo are pleased to invite the public to a free signature event at Harmony Hall. Geoff Welch's seasonal celebrations have been a staple of our annual program now for nearly a decade. This year, Geoff is pleased to announce that Sterling Forest historian Doc Bayne is returning to the South Salon to share the story of the forging of the great chain that once spanned the Hudson River to keep British warships from traveling too far upstream during the American Revolution. He will be joined by noted archeologist and historian Ed Lenik, who will share a traditional story of the coming of winter that has been passed down by the Ramapough tribe of the Lenni Lenape. Ramapough Shaman Cindy Fountain will also be on-hand to offer a bit of Native American wisdom and a traditional blessing as we move toward the changing of the seasons. The event will culminate in an original multimedia presentation by photographer and composer Geoff Welch, highlighting the passing of fall into winter, as it occurs each year in the Ramapo Highlands. Guests will have the opportunity to visit our Holiday Shoppe, featuring handmade gift items and to enjoy refreshments before and following the presentations.
Curator Geoff Welch has prepared an outstanding program to celebrate the coming of winter on Saturday, December 19 at 2 PM!
Friends of Harmony Hall Takes a Winter Break!
As with most small historic properties, Friends of Harmony Hall take advantage of the slow winter months to clean and restore the mansion and its collections. We also use this important period of time to revisit our goals and objectives for the coming year. Nevertheless, we are always happy to provide interested visitors with entry to the mansion. If you are a member or visitor, or otherwise curious about the Harmony Hall restoration project, please contact our curator, Geoff Welch, at curator@FriendsOfHarmonyHall.org or telephone him at 845.712.5220. We look forward to seeing you this spring for an exciting new program of events.
Halloween is happening at haunted Harmony
Hall on October 30th from 7-10 PM!
Ghost hunter, Linda Zimmerman, is back this
year as we gather at Harmony Hall for our second
Halloween Haunt on Friday, October 30th from
7-10 PM. This signature event includes food and
drink, an opportunity for psychic readings and an
exciting new presentation from Linda, who will
share haunted experiences with clients, who came
to find out that they took home more than a
delightful new find when they left their favorite
Hudson Valley antique store! If you are a fan of SyFi's "Haunted Collector," don't miss this year's Halloween party in the 1848 Harmony Hall mansion. Tickets are $20 per person, or $15 for seniors, and space is limited! To make your reservation, call Geoff Welch at 845-712-5220 or email events@friendsofharmonyhall.org. Adults only and costumes are welcome!
